Globe and Mail

Have a look in today's (Saturday July 18) Globe and Mail if you'd like to see this illustration in print — it accompanies a piece in the Noticed section by Karen von Hahn, in which she describes her dread of garbage day now, thanks to the increasingly more complex presorting required for recycling.

Art Show

I'll be participating in Unload, a group show at La Petite Mort Gallery running from June 12-17 2009. If you're around Ottawa on the evening of June 12 (7-10), drop by and say hello! Shown below is what I'll be exhibiting — a three part series of mixed media pieces called Timorous Beasties.

Texas Monthly

These were done for the June 2009 issue of Texas Monthly, for an article about how to make peach preserves. One of my favourite magazines to work for, incidentally — lovely people.

Globe and Mail

This multi-hatted lady was for a comment piece by Barbara Simmons in the Facts & Arguments section of today's Globe and Mail. In it she relates the various names given to a mother-in-law, and how it's changed over the last generation or so from "mother" or "mom" to a more casual nickname such as "mumsie" or just one's name — and how this reflects the relationship between a mother-in-law and her daughter-in-law.
