Globe and Mail

This multi-hatted lady was for a comment piece by Barbara Simmons in the Facts & Arguments section of today's Globe and Mail. In it she relates the various names given to a mother-in-law, and how it's changed over the last generation or so from "mother" or "mom" to a more casual nickname such as "mumsie" or just one's name — and how this reflects the relationship between a mother-in-law and her daughter-in-law.
